Installing the app in your Mac is easy. Visit this page to download the most recent version of the Opal Composer app. Composer requires MacOS Monterey 12.3 or later.
If you still have the original Opal app installed, you will want to remove it before installing the new Composer app. You can find the instructions to do so on this page.
After moving Opal Composer to your Applications folder, open the folder to launch the app.
Once the app opens, you will see the screen below and need to complete the following onboarding steps.
- Enable camera
- Enable microphone
- Allow camera utilities
- Allow camera support
Every step will take you to a different location in your macOS settings panel. Give Opal Composer permission to get all its parts working properly.
Luckily this is something we only need to do once per camera. These steps allow your camera to work properly with every other proprietary software out there. This is true for the Opal C1 and the Tadpole. Regardless if you had one installed the moment a new device comes into play we need to get those permissions again.
The last step will be the firmware upgrade. Please make sure your camera is plugged into your computer during the firmware update and that you do not close out of the Composer app.
