❓ Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues during the update, such as the camera not being recognized or the update failing to install, try the following:

  • Check USB Connection: Ensure the USB connection is secure and the camera is powered on.
  • Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, restarting your computer can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Reset the Browser's USB Permissions: Check your browser USB for your Tadpole. This may be titled “Reset Permissions" when on the site permissions for the Opal Doctor page.
  • Try a Different Browser: If issues persist, attempt the update process using another supported browser.
  • Adjust USB Rules for Linux: If you're experiencing issues on Linux, you may need to modify USB rules to allow your browser access to your Tadpole. Run the following commands, reconnect your device, and attempt the upgrade through Opal Doctor again:
echo 'SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}=="3673", MODE="0666"' | sudo tee /etc/udev/rules.d/3673-opal.rules
sudo udevadm control --reload-rules && sudo udevadm trigger
